CPR/AED Courses

Course Highlights

  • Participate in a fun, interactive learning environment
  • Learn how to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies
  • Access the Emergency Medical Services system
  • Recognize and respond to life threatening emergencies
  • All CPR courses include certification in automated external defibrillation (AED) use.

Course Prerequisites

  • None necessary

Course Materials Provided in class

  • Basic Life Support - CPR/AED guide book
  • Canadian Red Cross Certification Card (valid for three years)

CPR course levels:

Free CPR Workshop

Includes:
- Introduction and demonstration of first aid for choking and CPR
- First aid skills for caring for adults

This workshop is offered to non-profit community groups at no cost.  To learn about the group requirements, please contact us

Time Commitment: 2.5 to 3 hours              Course Fee: FREE
 

CPR - Level A

(previously called 'Heartsaver CPR')
Includes:
- First aid skills for caring for adults
- First aid treatment for Airway, Breathing, and Circulation emergencies
- Public access AED use

Time Commitment: 5.5 to 6 hours            Course Fee: $50

CPR - Level C

(previously called 'Basic Rescuer CPR')

Includes:
- First aid skills for caring for adults, children, and babies
- First aid treatment for Airway, Breathing, and Circulation emergencies
- Public access AED use
 
This is the minimum required level for health care professionals (nurses, therapists, dental assistants, etc.) and First Responders.

Time Commitment: 6.5 to 8 hours              Course Fee: $50

CPR - Level HCP

(Health Care Provider level)

Includes:
- First aid skills for caring for adults, children, and babies
- First aid treatment for Airway, Breathing, and Circulation emergencies
- Public access AED use
- Rescue Breathing
- Bag Valve Mask (BVM) use
 
This is a preferred level for some health care professionals (nurses, therapists, dental assistants, etc.) and First Responders.  Anyone can take this course, but you should check with your employer or school to find out if there is a specific requirement to take this level.

Time Commitment: 7 to 8 hours                  Course Fee: $60
